My Closing Argument Against Trump

As the 2020 presidential election approaches, it is crucial for Americans to consider the potential consequences of another Trump presidency. Despite the chaos and division that has defined the past four years, there are still many who seem to be turning a blind eye to the risks that come with another term for President Trump. This is a warning to those individuals, a closing argument against Trump and a call to action for the future of our country.

Let’s start with the most obvious concern: Trump’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. From the beginning, he downplayed the severity of the virus and failed to take necessary action to contain it. As a result, the United States now has the highest number of confirmed cases and deaths in the world. Trump’s refusal to listen to experts and his constant misinformation has cost countless lives and put the entire country at risk. Can we really afford another four years of this reckless and dangerous leadership?

But it’s not just the pandemic that should worry Americans. Trump’s presidency has been marked by a disregard for the rule of law and a blatant abuse of power. From his attempts to undermine the Mueller investigation to his impeachment for soliciting foreign interference in the upcoming election, Trump has shown a blatant disregard for the Constitution and the principles of democracy. And with his recent refusal to commit to a peaceful transfer of power, it is clear that he will stop at nothing to hold onto his position of power.

Furthermore, Trump’s divisive rhetoric and actions have only deepened the already existing divisions in our country. He has fueled hatred and bigotry, emboldening white supremacists and stoking fear and animosity towards marginalized communities. This has resulted in a rise in hate crimes and a dangerous polarization of our society. Is this the kind of leader we want representing our country to the rest of the world?

On the international stage, Trump’s foreign policy has been erratic and damaging. He has alienated our allies, cozied up to authoritarian leaders, and withdrawn from crucial international agreements such as the Paris Climate Agreement and the Iran Nuclear Deal. His lack of diplomacy and disregard for global cooperation has weakened America’s standing in the world and put our national security at risk.

But perhaps one of the most concerning aspects of a potential second term for Trump is the impact it would have on our democracy. With the recent passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Trump now has the opportunity to appoint a third conservative justice to the highest court in the land. This could have far-reaching consequences for issues such as reproductive rights, healthcare, and LGBTQ+ rights. And with Trump’s track record of appointing unqualified and biased individuals to key positions, the future of our country’s judicial system is at stake.

To those who may still be considering voting for Trump, I urge you to think about the long-term consequences of your decision. This is not a matter of political party or ideology, it is a matter of the future of our country. We cannot afford to have a leader who consistently puts his own interests above those of the American people. We need a leader who will unite us, not divide us. A leader who will listen to experts and make decisions based on facts, not personal opinions. A leader who will uphold the values of democracy and protect the rights of all Americans.

In this closing argument against Trump, I implore my fellow Americans to consider the risks that come with another four years of his presidency. We have the power to shape the future of our country, and it is our responsibility to use that power wisely. Let’s come together and vote for a better, more united, and more compassionate America. Our future depends on it.

In conclusion, the risks of another Trump presidency are too great to ignore. We cannot afford to make the same mistake twice. It is time for us to come together and make our voices heard. Let’s choose a leader who will truly put the interests of the American people first. The future of our country is at stake, and we must not take it lightly. This is our closing argument against Trump, and it is a call to action for a better and brighter future for all Americans.
