IV Energy Security Dialogue between Angola and the United States
On June 13, the IV Energy Security Dialogue between Angola and the United States convened at the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas in Luanda. This meeting aimed to explore support for energy security in Angola, focusing on energy production and electricity access.
The Angolan delegation was led by Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, while the U.S. delegation was chaired by Geoffrey Pyatt, the U.S. Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources.
The Energy Security Dialogue (ESD) concentrated on ensuring a secure and stable energy supply and enhancing commercial relations in this field.
During the discussions, João Baptista Borges from Angola and Geoffrey Pyatt from the U.S. primarily addressed issues related to maintaining a secure and stable energy supply, reinforcing commercial connections between the two nations in this sector, and deliberating on energy security.
Other attendees included José Barroso, the Angolan Secretary of State for Petroleum; Pedro Afonso, Chairman of PRODEL-EP; Rui Gourgel, Chairman of RNT-EP; Helder Adão, Chairman of ENDE; Sebastião Martins, Chairman of Sonangol; José Quarta, Board Representative of IRSEA; and various representatives from ANPG.
