Tiffany Haddish, the beloved comedian and actress, is known for her infectious energy and hilarious performances on screen. But behind the laughter and glamour, Haddish has had a tough journey to success. Growing up in foster care and experiencing homelessness, she missed out on many typical high school experiences. However, that hasn’t stopped her from recreating those moments today.
In an exclusive interview with ET, Haddish opened up about her upcoming appearance at the 2025 Adult Prom event and how she’s making up for lost time by reliving her high school experience.
“I never got to go to prom in high school, so I’m excited to attend the Adult Prom and make up for that missed opportunity,” Haddish shared with ET. “It’s like I’m reliving my high school days, but this time with a lot more confidence and a lot more fun!”
The Adult Prom event, which has been gaining popularity in recent years, is a chance for adults to dress up, dance, and experience the magic of prom all over again. And who better to attend than Haddish, who has become a symbol of resilience and perseverance in the entertainment industry.
“I want to show people that no matter where you come from or what obstacles you face, you can still have fun and create new memories,” Haddish said. “I may not have had a traditional high school experience, but I’m making up for it now and living my best life.”
Haddish’s journey to success has been nothing short of inspiring. From her breakout role in the hit movie “Girls Trip” to hosting Saturday Night Live and winning an Emmy for her guest appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” Haddish has become a household name. But her success didn’t come easy.
Growing up in foster care, Haddish faced many challenges, including being placed in over 20 different homes. She also experienced homelessness and had to work multiple jobs to support herself. Despite these hardships, Haddish never lost her sense of humor and always dreamed of making it big in Hollywood.
“I always knew I wanted to be an entertainer, even when I was living in my car,” Haddish shared. “I would perform for my friends and make them laugh, and that’s when I knew this was my calling.”
And now, with her success and fame, Haddish is using her platform to inspire others and give back to her community. She has started a foundation to help foster youth and has also become an advocate for mental health awareness.
“I want to use my story to show others that they can overcome any obstacle and achieve their dreams,” Haddish said. “And I want to give back and help those who are going through similar struggles that I faced.”
Haddish’s positive attitude and determination have not only helped her achieve her dreams but have also inspired countless others. And her appearance at the Adult Prom event is just another example of her resilience and ability to turn any situation into a fun and memorable experience.
“I’m excited to see what the Adult Prom has in store for me,” Haddish said with a smile. “I may not have had a traditional high school experience, but I’m making up for it now, and I’m going to have a blast!”
