Palestinians slam Israeli plan to seize Gaza City as ‘extermination’
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has issued a strong condemnation against Israel’s actions in the ongoing war in Gaza. In a statement released on Friday, the Ministry accused Israel of transforming the conflict into a campaign of “extermination and forced displacement.”

The statement came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the country’s military operation in Gaza will continue for as long as needed, with the aim of weakening Hamas, the militant group controlling the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry, however, argues that Israel’s true intention is not to weaken Hamas, but to forcibly displace the Palestinian population in Gaza. The Ministry’s statement also pointed out the disproportionate use of force by Israel, which has led to the deaths of hundreds of innocent civilians, including women and children.

The Ministry further added that Israel’s actions violate international law and amount to a grave violation of human rights. It also called on the international community to take immediate action to stop Israel’s “aggression” against the Palestinian people.

The statement by the Palestinian Foreign Ministry reflects the sentiments of the Palestinian people who have been living under constant fear and distress due to Israel’s military aggression. The ongoing war in Gaza has caused immense suffering for the Palestinian population, with many families losing their homes, businesses, and loved ones.

The Ministry’s accusation of “extermination and forced displacement” is not unfounded. The recent bombing of a residential building in Gaza, which housed multiple media offices, including the Associated Press and Al Jazeera, has caused widespread outrage. The destruction of this building has not only silenced the voices of journalists but has also left many families homeless.

The Israeli government has defended its actions, claiming that the building was used by Hamas for military purposes. However, media organizations and journalists have strongly denied these allegations, stating that there was no evidence to support such claims.

This is not the first time that Israel has been accused of targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in its military operations. In the past, the Israeli military has been criticized for its use of disproportionate force, which has resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent Palestinians.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry’s statement also highlighted the ongoing illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which are a major obstacle to peace in the region. These settlements have been condemned by the international community, and their expansion has been a major point of contention in the peace process.

The Ministry’s statement serves as a reminder that the root cause of the conflict between Israel and Palestine is the continued occupation and aggression by Israel. The Palestinian people have been demanding their right to self-determination and an end to the occupation for decades, but their calls have too often fallen on deaf ears.

As the Palestinian Foreign Ministry rightly points out, it is imperative for the international community to take immediate action to put an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people. The United Nations and other world leaders must hold Israel accountable for its actions and work towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

It is time for the international community to see through Israel’s war propaganda and recognize the reality on the ground. The ongoing war in Gaza is not a matter of self-defense for Israel, but a systematic campaign of oppression and aggression against the Palestinian people.

In conclusion, the statement by the Palestinian Foreign Ministry serves as a wake-up call to the international community to take decisive action to end the injustice and suffering of the Palestinian people. It is time for the world to stand in solidarity with Palestine and work towards achieving a just and lasting peace in the region. The Palestinian people deserve to live in dignity, free from occupation and violence. It is time for their voices to be heard and their rights to be respected.
