Claudia Sheinbaum, the National Coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, announced the formalization of a major coalition with the Confederation of Autonomous Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM), with the aim of continuing the country’s transformation initiated by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Sheinbaum emphasized that this coalition is based on the shared commitment to advance the 4T and seeks to unite the people in the Fourth Transformation of Mexico’s public life.
She expressed her satisfaction in formalizing this alliance during the XV National Ordinary Congress of CATEM, where she reiterated her commitment to defending labor rights and the well-being of workers. Sheinbaum stressed the importance of the country moving forward into the future and not reverting to the past, highlighting the achievements in wage matters during the López Obrador administration.
She also announced the start of her pre-campaign for the Presidency of the Republic in 2024, pledging to continue working for the Mexican people. CATEM members pledged to establish over 10,000 labor committees in support of the Fourth Transformation.
