Today, December 20th, the Mamã Madalena Shelter and the Innovation and Development Center for Inclusion, located in the Urban Districts of Cazenga and Benfica, received a donation of essential goods from MINEA. These goods included perishable and non-perishable food items, clothing, beds, and toys, all part of MINEA’s social responsibility initiative.
This act of solidarity aimed to provide moments of camaraderie and support to the underprivileged children in these centers, in line with the festive spirit of 2023. The Mamã Madalena Shelter, which currently accommodates approximately 90 children, was among the first recipients of this philanthropic gesture. Established on May 15th, 2021, by Mamã Madalena Catué, the shelter comprises 7 dormitories, a kitchen, two bathrooms, a school offering education from 1st to 9th grade, a playground, and a recreation room. Located in the Cazenga district, specifically in the Kima Kieza area, the Mamã Madalena shelter serves youth from diverse regions of Angola.
Following this, attention turned to the Innovation and Development Center for Inclusion in the urban district of Benfica. Currently catering to 115 beneficiaries, the center boasts 3 literacy classrooms, an arts and crafts room, a computer room, facilities for kitchen and table assistant training, a hairdressing training area, a room for family psychological support, as well as areas for occupational therapy, speech therapy, and behavioral therapy.
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests including His Excellency Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, CEO of ENDE, Eng. Hélder de Jesus Garcia Adão, as well as officials from MINEA and representatives of companies supporting this noble cause. Among the supporting companies were CMEC, CR20, HUANTONG, ANGOLA INDUSTRY, DAR ANGOLA, José e Rode, Ossiyeto, Seth e Lis, Sinohydro, Odebrecht, MCA, Dar Angola, CGGC, and ELECNOR.
