Trump “National Police Force” Built on ICE Partnerships With Local Agencies Like… Wildlife Commissions?

In recent years, the issue of immigration has become a hot topic in the United States, with President Donald Trump at the forefront of the debate. From building a wall along the southern border to implementing strict immigration policies, Trump has made it clear that he wants to crack down on illegal immigration. However, his tactics have been met with criticism and controversy, particularly when it comes to his use of fear-mongering and false information about immigrant crime waves.

Trump has repeatedly claimed that immigrants, particularly those from Latin America, are responsible for a surge in crime in the United States. He has used this narrative to justify his harsh immigration policies, such as the separation of families at the border and the expansion of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids. But the truth is, there is no evidence to support his claims of a crime wave caused by immigrants.

In fact, studies have shown that immigrants, both legal and undocumented, are less likely to commit crimes than native-born citizens. According to a study by the Cato Institute, immigrants have a lower incarceration rate than native-born Americans. This is not surprising, as many immigrants come to the United States in search of a better life and are less likely to engage in criminal activities that could jeopardize their chances of staying in the country.

So why does Trump continue to push this false narrative of immigrant crime waves? The answer lies in his desire to create a massive law enforcement apparatus that operates under his orders. In his first year in office, Trump signed an executive order that called for the hiring of 10,000 additional ICE agents. He has also pushed for the expansion of partnerships between ICE and local law enforcement agencies, giving them more power to enforce immigration laws.

This has led to the creation of what some are calling a “national police force” under Trump’s control. These partnerships between ICE and local agencies, which were originally intended to target serious criminals, have now been expanded to include minor offenses and traffic violations. This means that anyone, regardless of their immigration status, can be targeted and detained by ICE.

But it’s not just local law enforcement agencies that are being roped into Trump’s immigration crackdown. In a recent article published by The Intercept, it was revealed that ICE has also partnered with unlikely agencies, such as state wildlife commissions. These partnerships allow ICE to access databases and information from these agencies, giving them even more power to track and detain immigrants.

This expansion of ICE’s reach and power is concerning, as it goes against the principles of a fair and just legal system. It also raises questions about the role of local law enforcement agencies and whether they should be involved in enforcing federal immigration laws. Many critics argue that these partnerships only serve to further marginalize and target immigrant communities, leading to a breakdown of trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Furthermore, the use of fear-mongering and false information to justify these actions is not only unethical, but it also perpetuates harmful stereotypes and prejudices against immigrants. It creates a dangerous narrative that portrays all immigrants as criminals and threats to society, when in reality, the vast majority are hardworking individuals who contribute to the fabric of our nation.

It’s time for the truth to be told about immigrant crime waves and for the focus to shift towards comprehensive immigration reform that addresses the root causes of illegal immigration. This includes addressing issues such as poverty, violence, and corruption in the countries that many immigrants are fleeing from. It also means finding a fair and humane solution for the millions of undocumented immigrants who are already living and contributing to our communities.

In conclusion, Trump’s use of lies about immigrant crime waves to justify his aggressive immigration policies is not only damaging to our society, but it also serves his own agenda of creating a national police force under his control. It’s time for the truth to be told and for a more compassionate and just approach to be taken towards immigration. Let’s not allow fear and false information to dictate our policies and actions, but instead, let’s strive for a more inclusive and welcoming society for all.
